Student Assistance Program (CARE)

Children Assistance Resource Evaluation

The CARE Team is a way to identify high risk students who are having persistent school-related problems.  It is a method for intervening and referring those students to appropriate community services who are experiencing difficulties associated with drugs and alcohol and/or mental health issues.

The heart of this program is a core group of school personnel who are certifiably trained to identify problems areas and make appropriate referrals.  It is not a treatment program.

Students can be referred by other students, parents, teachers, guidance counselors, or administrators.  A referral form can be picked up in the guidance or nurse's offices and in the health classrooms.  Referrals are confidential.
